# Boundaryless

> Boundaryless is an organizational design firm that builds the operating infrastructure for composable organizations: an open standard (O2A), a consulting practice, and AI-ready software (Orchestrion). Founded in 2013 with the Platform Design Toolkit, it works with complex organizations, from Fortune 500s to the United Nations, to make their capabilities visible, composable, and governable by people and AI agents.

Boundaryless helps organizations make their real operating structure explicit and machine-readable: topology (units, mandates, contracts), portfolio taxonomy, and shared semantics. The thesis: AI does not remove the need for organizational structure, it removes the need for superstructure (hierarchy, bureaucratic process, middle management as context translators), and rewards organizations whose structure is explicit and machine-readable. Work is grounded in the O2A (Open Organization Alliance) open standard, published under Creative Commons.
